The only way for pharmaceutical companies to cut costs is by changing and optimizing their pharmaceutical distribution system, where everyone, manufacturer to pharmacist, is battling for control. Optimizing the supply chain is not always that simple though, the supply chain comes under increasing scrutiny as an area which can be streamlined even further - both in terms of efficiency and cost.
